Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Just Knot It app and justknotit.app, both operated by The John Shelton LLC (“we,” “us”).
The short version: the Just Knot It app collects no data. What you capture stays on your devices and in your own private iCloud. The only personal information we hold is the email address you give us to join the beta waitlist.
The Just Knot It app
- No data collected. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your captures, contacts, locations, calendar events, photos, voice notes, or usage. We have no accounts and no servers that receive your content.
- On-device intelligence. Text recognition, transcription, and linking of people, places, and topics run on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device frameworks, including Apple Intelligence. Your content is not sent to us or to any AI service.
- Your iCloud. If iCloud is on, your captures sync through your private iCloud database, which Apple stores on your behalf. We cannot read it. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- System permissions. Contacts, Location, Calendar, Photos, Camera, Microphone, and Notifications are optional. When you allow one, the app reads that data on your device only, to link captures and remind you at the right moment. You can change these anytime in Settings.
- Maps lookups. To place a restaurant or shop you mention on the map, the app asks Apple Maps using the place name and an approximate location. Apple handles that request under its own privacy policy. We never see it.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics SDKs. We may see aggregate, anonymous App Store and TestFlight figures (such as install counts and crash reports you choose to share) that Apple provides to all developers.
- Deleting your data. Delete a capture in the app, or delete the app and its iCloud data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Nothing remains with us because we never had it.
The beta waitlist and this website
- Your email address. When you join the waitlist, your email is stored by our email provider, Kit. We use it only to send your TestFlight invite and occasional updates about Just Knot It. We never sell or share it.
- Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of any email, or write to us and we’ll delete your address.
- TestFlight. If you join the beta, Apple’s TestFlight shares your name and email with us so we can invite you, and may share crash reports and feedback you choose to send. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy notice.
- This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host, Microsoft Azure, keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations.
Children
Just Knot It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. If a change affects how the app handles your data, we’ll say so in the release notes.
